A Step Ahead: B+A Architecture Earns MBE Certification

B+A Architecture is proud to announce that we have been officially certified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) by the City of Kansas City, Missouri's Human Relations Department. This is a milestone that reflects both our values and commitment to equitable growth in the built environment.

Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) certificates awarded to B+A Architecture.

This recognition is more than a credential. It is a formal acknowledgment of our values and who B+A Architecture is: a full-service architectural firm built from the ground up by driven, diverse leadership with a vision to deliver exceptional solutions across Kansas City and beyond.

With this certification, B+A is now positioned to participate in city-funded contracts where Kansas City requests MBE participation goals, including professional service contracts exceeding 160,000 USD and construction projects exceeding 300,000 USD. Kansas City maintains an annual citywide goal of 14.7% MBE participation across city spending, reflecting the city's commitment to inclusive procurement practices.

"This certification opens meaningful doors," said Thong Thai - Managing Partner of B+A Architecture. "It validates the work we've put into building this firm and gives us the opportunity to contribute more to the public and civic projects that shape our city. We are grateful to Kansas City for championing economic equity, and we're excited for what comes next."

Founded in 1995, with offices in Kansas City and Houston, B+A Architecture has steadily grown our portfolio diversity in both project type and the services that we can provide. We bring a collaborative, client-centered approach to every project and every phase of each project. And now, with MBE status, we bring even greater value to partners and clients seeking to meet diversity participation goals on city and publicly funded work.

B+A Architecture looks forward to deepening its partnerships across Kansas City and continuing to design spaces that serve and inspire the communities it calls home.
